This week's challenge was opposites, my opposite was objects in motion so I tried to take pictures of an apple falling into a bowl of water.

Silk Painting

I think my silk painting would probably score a four because it aligns well with the principles 4.A There is successful use of the elements of design, but the investigation of 2-D design principles is limited in scope, 4.B Some clear decision making and intention are evident, and 4.E Some of the work has evocative qualities that engage the viewer, though confidence is not obvious; conversely the work may display confidence but not be engaging. I really enjoyed this project because painting is not something I normally do because my fine art skills are not the strongest and it was fun to be able to blend the primary colors into the shades of color I wanted to have.

Weekly Challenge 4

For my weekly challenge four I was supposed to create smoke photography and it was really difficult for me to capture a good photo of smoke so I uploaded one of my attempted smoke photos and a good photo I got of fire.

Weekly Challenge 1

September 3, 2013

The challenge I chose this week was opposing emotions so I chose to photograph a girl who has conflicting emotions. Those portrayed are happiness and hopelessness. I chose to make one of the faces black and white because I thought it added a lot more contrast to the piece.

Summer Art 2013

For my first summer art work I took this panorama while I was in Breckenridge, CO on a lake. I thought the mountains looked incredible and showed a lot of depth and the water added to it. The second summer work is a photo of my little sister on a rock in the middle of a river, I thought the color in this photo was amazing and the lighting was really good as well. Both works are almost entirely photo pure, with just a few minor adjustments made on brightness and coloring.
